At The Reading Institute, we believe that every child—regardless of zip code, background, or learning profile—deserves access to the kind of high-quality, research-based instruction that unlocks the world of reading. Through the strength of our partnerships, our high-impact tutoring programs are helping striving K-2nd grade readers in New York City—and beyond—make transformative gains in foundational literacy skills through consistent, evidence-based instruction.
High-impact tutoring is one of the most effective interventions we have to support students who are behind in reading. To ensure every child who needs it can benefit from this approach,
we must expand access to high-impact tutoring across schools and communities.
That’s why The Reading Institute is also deeply engaged in advocacy work to bring high-impact tutoring to school districts across New York State. We will continue to support legislation that would establish high-impact tutoring pilot programs throughout the state, empowering local districts to bring targeted, proven reading support to their youngest learners.
